Healthcare Professional: Radiation Licensing
The Beta-Cath™ System contains a licensable quantity of radioactive Strontium-90. Accordingly, institutions must have a valid Radioactive Materials License in order to possess and use the Beta-Cath™ System. Although most institutions are licensed to possess radioactive material for medical use, most will require a license amendment to scope use of Strontium-90 in the Beta-Cath™ System for intravascular brachytherapy in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Novoste's Regulatory Affairs Department is available to provide assistance and answer questions regarding the licensing process.
